Obituary of Bruce Winston Perkins
WALLINGFORD - Bruce Perkins, 80, departed this life on January 29, 2018 at the home of his son while surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Boyd) Perkins.
Bruce was born in Somerville, NJ on November 17, 1937 to the late William and Charlene (Salkins) Perkins.
He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and had worked as a truck driver until his retirement.
Bruce will be cherished in the memories of his sons: Boyd (Cathy) of South Carolina, Thomas ( Cammy) of Vermont, Christopher (Jennifer) of East Hampton, and Brett (Yolanda) of Wallingford; daughters: Cheryl Wood (Christopher) of Florida, Dawn Backus (Kurt) of Meriden, and Heather Perkins of Meriden and ten beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service in celebration of his life will be led by Rev. Kathy Cunliffe of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford on Friday, February 2nd at 11:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. The family will receive visitors and friends on Thursday, February 1st from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
