Obituary of Robert Gordon Brockett

WALLINGFORD - Robert G. Brockett, 79, departed this life on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Clark) Brockett.

He was born in New Haven on February 24,1938 to the late Ellsworth and Edith (White) Brockett.

Mr. Brockett served honorably as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and as a trooper with the Connecticut State Police. He was a proud member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Marine Corps League. He retired from Pratt and Whitney where he has been a parts inspector. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Wallingford and Solid Rock Assembly of God in Barton, Vermont

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by: daughter Shelly Stocks of North Carolina; stepson William and step daughters Brenda and Sharon - all of Wallingford; his sisters Sandra and Daryle Brockett of Branford; sisters-in-law Sandy Ivan and Betty Gerencser; grandchildren: Wesley, Mandy Joshua, Alianna, Nick, Bryan, Shandi and Amanda, Maegan; and great grandchildren: Nathan, Alex, and Logan and Daniel. He was predeceased by his daughters Debran Jean Nanney and Dawn Marie Brockett and grandson Daniel.

A memorial service will be held on March 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene in Wallingford. Military honors will be rendered following the service. Burial will be in Irasburg Cemetery in Irasburg, VT. It is suggested that contributions in his memory be made to Wounded Warriors Family Support, 920 S 107th Ave., Suite 250, Omaha, NE 68114.
