Anne Watts

Obituary of Anne Mary Watts

MERIDEN - Anne Watts, 58, beloved sister, departed this life on February 27, 2018, at the Meriden Center.

Anne was born in Meriden on February 24, 1960, to the late Frank and Mary Watts.

Anne attended St. Rose elementary school and excelled in all her classes. She enjoyed learning and engaging in discussions with teachers and classmates. She was well loved by students and teachers alike and developed many close friendships there. Because of her dynamic, outgoing personality, she never missed a new adventure. At Maloney High School she again did well with all her courses and maintained her place on the honor roll throughout her attendance there. She joined many clubs and activities and developed close relationships with the members of the Props and Paints club. She learned to ski and quickly became accomplished in the sport and would attend ski trips with family and friends whenever she had the opportunity. At Central Ct. State University, she stayed true to her love of sharing knowledge and ideas with others and naturally obtained a degree in education. After college, she moved to Boston and taught for the Headstart program there. The students and families appreciated Anne’s efforts to make the school a happy, successful place. She loved Boston and loved to have family and friends visit so she could take them to popular landmarks and events in the city. She developed a love of travel, visiting virtually every state in the country. Anne always made an effort to meet people wherever she went and these friendships with all kinds of individuals afforded her many opportunities to visit new places throughout the country. During this time, she was diagnosed with MS and eventually had to return to Ct. and live with her family. Despite her disease, she tried to remain positive and outgoing and even when she entered the Meriden Center in 2009, she spent many years there remaining as independent as possible by traveling to movies, stores, and restaurants. Her lively, outgoing personality will be missed and many friends and family will keep memories of her close at heart.

Anne is survived by her sister and brother in law, Maria and William King and their daughter, her niece Leah King of Stratford.
