Obituary of Doris M. Swidock

WALLINGFORD - Doris M. Swidock, 92, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Skyview Center in Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Swidock.

Doris was born in New Haven on May 7, 1925 to the late Nicholas and Madalyne (Misbach) Bouza. She grew up with her parents at her father's service station on Route 5, where Louie's Pizza was formerly located. From there she went to work at Revere's and later retired from Grant's. She spent many hours baking brownies and New York Style cheesecakes, as well as crocheting blankets for everyone in her family. She will mostly be remembered waving good-bye to all who visited her from the front window at her home.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Anne Snyder of FL and Susan Nowotenski of CA; step-children: Bruce (Susan) Swidock of Meriden, Keith Swidock of Wallingford, and Dawn (Philip) Parodayco of Wallingford. She will be missed by 6 grandchildren: Shane Beaty, Christy Manley, Cliff Hutchinson, Tammy Kudla, Carrie Mayhew, Julie Botelho; 11 great-grandchildren: Holly, Mark, Adam, Abigail, Melissa, Sammy, Richard Jr., Allyson, Andrew, Caitlyn, Colin; as well as her sister-in-law: Vini Swidock, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Doris was predeceased by her 2 brothers: Frederick Bouza and Nicholas T. Bouza Jr.; and one grandson: David Hutchinson.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00am - 11:00am on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., in Wallingford. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am in the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford.
