Obituary of Theodore H. Weimer, Jr.

WALLINGFORD - Theodore (Ted) Weimer, age 80, departed this life on May 3, 2018, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at The Village at Kensington Place. Ted was born in New Haven on December 3, 1937 to the late Theodore H. and Marie Antoniette (Couture) Weimer. He was a loving and devoted husband of Arlene (Curtin) Weimer for 55 years. He was predeceased by his 3 sisters, Barbara Donath, Jean Turner, and Patricia Thibault.

Ted joined the US Navy in 1954 and proudly served on the USS Des Moines in the Mediterranean until 1959. Upon his return from the Navy, Ted graduated from Wilbur Cross High School and then earned a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven. Ted went on to lead a distinguished, 34-year career with the State of Connecticut Liquor Control Commission, and retired as the Supervising Agent in 1992.

Ted attended the Church of the Resurrection. He was a kind, generous man with a strong Catholic faith. He was also passionate about his service in the Navy, and remained active with the USS Des Moines annual reunions.

Ted's other passion was his grandchildren - Matthew, Delaney and Sydney. They were the lights of his life and always a source of great pride and strength. In addition to his wife and grandchildren, Ted will be cherished in the memories of his loving sons Ted and his wife Dianne of Hebron, CT, and Craig and his wife Kelly of Hollis, NH.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9th at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection. Friends are invited to go directly to the church. There are no calling hours.
