Obituary of Sigmund Alexander Lipka
WALLINGFORD - Sigmund Alexander Lipka, 95, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Old Saybrook. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Cook) Lipka.
Sigmund was born in Claremont, NH on August 10, 1922 to the late Alexander and Salomea (Grella) Lipka. After serving his country honorably in the United States Army, 10th Mountain Division in World War II, he worked as a machinist at New Departure until retirement. In his later years he spent his spare time hunting, fishing, and making stained glass artwork.
Sigmund will be sorely missed by his two daughters: Marilyn (Hank) Nalewajek, and Susan (Bradford) Stevenson; his two sons: Edward (Regina) Lipka, and Barry Lipka. Sigmund also leaves behind eight loving grandchildren; Cassandra Leite (Walter), Joel Nalewajek (Adrienne), Adam Nalewajek, Alex Lipka (Becky), Melanie Cooper, Andrea Graichen (Randy), Brad Stevenson (Katie) and Zachary Stevenson and his fiancee, Linda Cody, as well as several great-grandchildren.
