Obituary of Firmina Sabine
WALLINGFORD - Firmina "Mimi" Sabine, 97, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Masonicare Healthcare Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Paul V. Sabine. Mimi was born on August 19, 1920 in Manzano, Italy to the late Leonardo and Anna (Valentinuzzi) Zamo. She was predeceased by her sister, Piera Colautti.
Mimi was a World War II war bride. During the war, she worked as a Morse code operator and post-war she worked for the American Red Cross, where she met her husband.
Mimi will be greatly missed by her two daughters: Bonnie Sabine of Wallingford, and Carla Sabine of NY. She is also survived by her loving granddaughters: Dejah (Christophe) Beauchamp of Higganum, and Maia Thuvia of Meriden; as well as her great grandchildren: Duncan and Jamison Beauchamp, and Ada Fries.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St. in Wallingford. A private Celebration of Life will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
