Obituary of Elise Laticia Bishop

Wallingford - Elise Bishop, 91, departed this life on July 30, 2018 at Midstate Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Howard H. Bishop for over sixty years.

Elise was born in Middletown, CT on February 2, 1927 to the late Edward and Clara (Burton) Pendleton. She grew up in Middletown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. While in high school, she began working for Southern New England Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator and continued working there throughout her adult years. It was here that she met her future husband, Howard. Elise and Howard were married and settled in Wallingford to begin a family of their own. Elise had many interests including gardening, quilting, knitting quelling, travel and reading that she enjoyed with family and friends. Perhaps one of her greatest passions was gardening, for which she won many awards while a member of the Wallingford Garden Club.

Besides her loving husband Howard, Elise is survived by her daughter Kathleen Kaufmann and her husband George of Westbury, NY and her son Kenneth Bishop with Kim Lussier of Hudson, NH. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Pendleton.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd, Wallingford. There will be no public calling hours and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with final arrangements.
