Obituary of Kim S. Poggio
Kim S. Poggio, 72, of Wallingford, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Masonicare Health Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Poggio of Wallingford.
Born on August 9, 1946 in New Britain, CT, Kim was the daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Donahue) Tefft. She was a lifelong Wallingford resident. Kim's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Her strength and positivity were an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Throughout her life, Kim worked several jobs. She taught 4H, was a co-owner of a trash business, opened a ceramics studio and worked at Vinny's Deli. For the past 14 years, Kim made Paper Bead Jewelry that she sold at local fairs. Everyone that knew Kim, knew her love and passion for animals. She opened her heart to all.
Kim is survived by her son Vincent Poggio and his wife Donna; her daughter Marci Rizzo and her husband Dean; her grandsons Bob Malaguti lll and his wife Angie and Vincent R. Poggio; her sister Kathy McNulty and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband, Kim is predeceased by her sons Richard Poggio, Jr. and Robert Malaguti, Jr.
The family would like to send out a sincere thank you to MidState Medical Oncology Staff (especially "her girls"), Memorial Sloan Kettering staff and the staff at Masonicare Hospice for all the care and support they've given Kim and her family.
Kim's funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 9:30 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St,. Wallingford. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
