Obituary of Robert J. Russell

WALLINGFORD - Robert J. Russell, 87, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Berith (Larsen) Russell.

Robert was born in Burlington, VT on January 9, 1931 to the late Joseph and Gladys Russell. He was raised by his grandmother in Vernon, VT and later worked as a welder for Waltsco, which brought him to Wallingford. He loved model railroading, Nascar racing, and all of his pets.

Besides his wife, Robert will be missed by one son Richard Russell, his wife Yana and their daughter Katie of Wallingford; one daughter Sonja (Russell) Vining, her husband Walt and their children Erika, Kevin, and Emma of Wallingford. He will also be missed by his sister Dolores Staley and her husband Ben of FL. He was predeceased by his brothers James Russell, Daniel Kidder, Joseph Kidder, Johnny Kidder, and his sister Virginia Falk.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street in Wallingford. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Robert will be laid to rest in VT at a later date.
