Obituary of Nancy Young Heilman

WALLINGFORD - Nancy Young Heilman, 93, departed this life on January 13, 2019 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of 67 years to her high school sweetheart, Robert Jay Heilman.

Nancy was born in Wallingford, CT on July 5, 1925 to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Cottrill) Young. Her family owned and operated Young's Apple Orchard in Wallingford. For many years she was a bookkeeper for Stimpson's Pharmacy and also worked for Heilman Bakery. She loved spending quality time with her family at their cottage on Leetes Island.

Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy (Michael) Cavanaugh of Meriden as well as her three cherished granddaughters; Kristen (Paul) Bellantuono of Bristol, Michele (Ronald) Ruggiero of Meriden and Lisa (Greg) Johnson of Southington. She will also be cherished in the memories of her great-grandchildren; Madyson, Joshua, Michael, RJ, Kaylee and Xander. In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy is predeceased by her son Robert Jay Heilman Jr., her brother Charles Young and her sister Elizabeth Roberge.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. There will be no public calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
