We are so sorry for your loss. Patrick thought so highly of this wonderful man. We’ve heard many stories over the years about him and you, Michele, and all the children and grandchildren. Patrick has had such good times at your lake house in Maine with Kate and Mike (whom we love dearly) and all the children.
Even though we never had the pleasure of meeting Russell, we feel we have known him through Patrick’s stories and good times with your family.
With sincere heartfelt sympathy,
Elaine & John Cronin

I’ve known Russell since Parker Farms elementary school and have shared many adventures hunting, fishing, golfing and snowmobiling together in Wallingford, Oquossoc, ME, and Alaska. However, the most important time we shared was when I introduced Russell to Michelle. We will all miss you Russ.

Russ Burgess ..a man"s man.
I new Russ for a half century. He was a hard working and honest businessman. He loved his Yankees and was a fan of their many World Series Championship teams.. Though I am a RedSox fan I always enjoyed talking baseball with Russ.
Russ was a great famiiy man and a true gentleman. A truly gentle man.

While he was Husband, Dad, Grandad and much more, he was a office guy next door, a Rotarian, and best: a kind gentle friend. His talents for listening as well as painting his visions on paper were only a few of the quiet talents. I will really miss the shared Sunday frank talks about "senior life" that actually began on South Cherry Street. Both solo owners, we bonded while Russ devoured/ loved his Popeye chicken, and listened to what guys complain about every day. Frankly he was like a brother I never had, in that he made no judgement but simply accepted all as was explained. How rare indeed. He gave me one of his paintings and explained every stroke on the paper and the meaning for his passion in the style and color. His paintings were a diary of his life and his loves. I joked about thinking of him as Mr Field & Stream. Dunkin Donut income will diminsh with the loss of his ice coffee orders. Seeing Russ was one of my favorite Sunday morning habits and just laughing at life together made it so unforgetable. See you again.

I am so sorry to hear of Russell's passing. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful artist. I remember well the painting of the cabin in Maine on his Mother's wall at Connecticut Baptist Homes, Inc. He was a great son and obviously husband and father as well. May he rest in peace and my prayers are with his family.

Dearest Burgess family,
Was so saddened to hear the news of Russ's death. At a time when my own daughter Megan needed a family role model with a loving father present, you were the perfect answer to my prayer.
I will remember his smile, his wit, his talents and most of all, his love for his family.
Thinking of all of you and knowing you will continue on with his spirit forever present in your hearts and in your souls.
Love,
Nancy Earls
