Obituary of Louis John Russo

EAST HAVEN - Louis J. Russo, 58, departed this life peacefully on February 7, 2019, at the Yale New Haven Hospital Smilow Cancer Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved father of Amanda Russo and cherished grandfather of Allyanna Morgillo.

Louis was born in New Haven on October 14, 1960 to the late Mario and Mary (Alling) Russo Sr. After high school, Lou enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in March of 1978 and was honorably discharged in March of 1984. He worked at Executive Honda as a service technician for some time and then relocated to Florida. Lou returned home around 1990 and enjoyed his hobbies, which included cars, fishing, and listening to music while spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his daughter Amanda and granddaughter, Allyanna, Lou is survived by his three brothers; Joseph Russo and his wife Jennifer; Michael Russo and his fiancée Barbara Marmaras; and Mario Russo Jr. He also leaves behind his cousin Monica Santore and Mark Sanogueira; cousin Julie Santore; nieces Erika and Rachel Doak; and close friends, Mary Pascale and Christopher Caggiano Jr. He will also be cherished in the memories of many other family members and friends.

Military honors will be rendered on Saturday, March 9, at 10:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford, followed by a celebration of life at the home of Joseph and Jennifer Russo, 34 Cornwell Rd, Wallingford.
