BETHANY - Robert "Bobby" Edwards Weidig Jr., 18, of Bethany, departed this life on Friday, December 25th unexpectedly as the result of an accident. Bobby was born on June 5, 1997 in New Haven, CT son of Cindy (Longo) Weidig, and the late Robert E. Weidig Sr. Bobby was a free spirit, and a very soulful person. He loved his music, family, and friends. He was avid guitarist and flutist and anything he could try to play. Bobby loved anything natural, he enjoyed festivals, and hiking, and just being close to nature. He was a spiritual young man, meditating every day and learning to heal with sound. Bobby will be remembered for his love, plain and simple and he could never give enough hugs. His memory will live on in his mother, Cindy and her companion John Hemstead and his sons Cody and Casey of Bethany, and his Brother, Douglas Walker of Bethany. Bobby also leaves his grandparents: Virginia and Jerry Dalmaso of FL, along with Aunts and Uncles: Roberta Bona, Bonnie and Edward DaSilva, Roger and Leslie Weidig, and cousins: Robert Bona, Matthew Poisson, Kory, Amanda, and Brady Weidig and many friends. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 4th at 11 AM at the Center Street Cemetery in Wallingford. Shoes are optional. Bobby wanted a green funeral, as he believed in giving back to the earth.
