NORTH BRANFORD - Elizabeth (Betty) Lucas, 72, departed this life on November 16, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice surrounded by those she loved. She was born in Montague, MA on May 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Norman Mattson and Myra Mattson (LaValley). She worked for Dr. Denis Miller of Branford for over 20 years and was affectionately known as 'Dr. Miller's secretary' until her retirement. Betty is survived by her dearly beloved partner and caregiver, Michael Burke; her daughters, Jennifer (Heath) Comerford and her husband Bill of Wallingford, Shannon (Heath) DaRos and her husband Peter of Stony Creek, and Jessica (Lucas) Melillo and her husband Thomas of Guilford. She is survived by her beautiful grandchildren; Cauley Comerford, Hunter DaRos and Ava, Tommy and Kamryn Melillo; and Michael's children Ryan, Christopher, Mike, and Jason and his wife Andrea and their children Samantha and Conner Burke. She is also survived by her beloved sister and brother in law, Marjorie and Ronald Leslie of Erving, MA and many nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her brother Norman and infant daughter Andrea. Betty's family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, November 21st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. Services and burial will be private.
