Marta Pelverts and her family were a large part of our lives. From the early days at Lufbury Park until recent phone conversations she will always be that great soul who shared love, kindness, and a sincere friendship to all who came in touch with her. Her family shared so many things with us. We all ice skated on the big pond, ate fresh honey from her husband's bee hives, played sports, helped John fix an old Ford pick-up, laughed on Friday nights to Disneyland shows, played cards in the clubhouse built by Mr. Pelverts and went for long hikes up Sleeping Giant State Park. We built a trail on Mt. Tom and would tobaggon down that big hill to the bottom. She is the first one to show me the constellation Cassiopeia most prominent under the Northern night sky while on the ice at the big pond. She helped me with my algebra homework and she was one of my mother's favorite friends. We shared adversary, tears, hardtimes, and prayers as well. Marta Pelverts and her family overcame the concentration camps of Europe, the take over of their farm land in World War II, the loss of a child, and the early passing of a brilliant and gentle father. Karl and John and their families please know that my heart and love go out to you in this time of grief. She was one of a kind a beautiful souland I will always cherish the memories of those precious days. Deep in my heart I do believe that she is continuing her journey through eternity and is at peace. May God Bless you and be with you Marta forever. Oh, and by the way, say hello to my mom for me. I'm sure you two still have a lot to say to each other. Love, John R. Hacku
