Obituary of John Joseph Oros
WALLINGFORD – John Joseph Oros, 86, of Sunrise Circle, entered into rest on February 23, 2007 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of 55 years of Ruth (Hoff) Oros.
He was born in Wallingford on February 24, 1920, a son of the late Joseph and Susan (Farkas) Oros.
Mr. Oros was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and served five years in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II. Before his retirement, he had been employed by American Cyanamid for twenty-five years. He was a lifetime member of both the Major Raoul Lufbery V.F.W. Post # 591 and the Siedlicki American Legion Post #187. He was a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford where he held several offices.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Sandra Boisvert and her husband Kenneth of Wallingford, and Doreen Freeman and her husband Mark of East Haddam; two brothers, Robert Oros of Wallingford and Richard Oros and his wife Janice of Middletown; four grandchildren, Jaryd and Corrine Boisvert of Wallingford, Mark Freeman, Jr. of East Haddam, and Maureen Kos of North Haven; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and beloved in-laws.
A funeral service will leave the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford on Tuesday, February 27 at 9:15am for a 10:00 am funeral at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Meriden. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, February 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
