WALLINGFORD - Antone Horta, 94, of Wallingford,beloved husband of the late Elsie (Rudolphi) Horta, departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. Antone was born in Taunton, MA, November 2, 1920 son of the late Antone and Rita (Denacemento) Horta. Mr. Horta was involved in the trucking industry until his retirement. He was a communicant of the Church of the Resurrection, Pinta Council #5, Knights of Columbus of Wallingford, past president of the Portuguese-American Club of Wallingford, and past president of the Portuguese Clubs of CT. He is survived by three children, Rita Smith and her husband Cletis of WV, David Horta of Inman,SC and Patricia Drouin and her husband John of Wallingford, a brother, Frank Horta of Fl., along with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday,October 5, 2015 at 11 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at The Portuguese American Club, 51 South Colony Road, Wallingford. It is suggested that gifts in his memory be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
