Obituary of Marie Antoinette Jobbagy
WALLINGFORD - Marie A. (Barsch) Jobbagy, 65, passed away suddenly at Hartford Hospital Sunday, August 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James Jobbagy.
She was born November 27, 1949, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Marie Barsch.
A lifelong Wallingford resident, Marie graduated from Lyman Hall High School where she played piano in various LHHS musicals and made many lifelong friends. Gifted with computer skills, she worked in several local businesses including Unishops, Inc., BYK Chemie, the VNA and Thermax Cable. With her love of crafting she opened and operated The Painted Pineapple Stencil Shop in downtown Wallingford, giving classes in the art of stenciling and making yet more lifelong friends. Anyone in need found comfort, solace and encouragement from her. She was also an avid reader of all genres but especially detective stories. James Patterson just lost one of his most enduring fans. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and family celebrations. Her baked ham had no equal.
In addition to her heartbroken husband, she leaves their two beautiful daughters: Heidi and Danyel of Wallingford, her brothers and sisters: Stan Barsch (Carol Barker), Louise Gerace (Ron), Arthur Barsch (Mary), and Emma Connolly (Dan), her brother-in-law, William Jobbagy (Silvia), sister-in-law, Sue Darmofalski (Stan), and mother-in-law, Bette Jobbagy, as well as her devoted nephews: Danny and Brian Connolly in addition to several other nieces, nephews and dear cousins in Canada, Michigan and California. She will be deeply missed by her dear friends Jane Paternostro, Lillian Allen, Jan Nacca and Mary Thompson. She also leaves her best buddies: Beauford, Charlie and Diamond.
The family wishes to thank the Wallingford EMTs, Midstate Medical Center, Lifestar and Hartford Hospital for the utmost and compassionate care they gave Marie and her family.
The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home located at 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 4 PM - 7 PM.
