Obituary of Jacqueline Marie Brooks

WALLINGORD - Jacqueline M. Brooks, of Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT. She was the loving wife of William E. Brooks, Sr. Jacqueline was born in Lewiston, ME on January 1, 1938 to Ralph and Lucille (Gagne) Filion. She retired from Stanley Judd where, while employed, she completed a fundamentals of supervision course. She was also an active member in the union. After retiring from Stanley Judd, she established Jacqueline Marie Antiques and Collectibles. This allowed her to combine her passion for traveling and antiquing with her husband, Bill. She was active in shops throughout New England. She was a very accomplished and talented woman. She had a tremendous flair for decorating and gardening. She took great pride in her gardens and her home. Her garden earned her the Certified Wildlife Habitat award by the National Wildlife Federation. Jacqueline also completed many courses in flower design. She competed at local fairs and many times garnered the Best in Show ribbons. She loved feeding her birds and fish. She was an avid animal lover. Jacqueline was especially fond of her shih-tzu, Zoe. She enjoyed time spent with family and camping, cruising, and dancing with her husband, Bill. She was an active volunteer with Masters Manna for 10 years. In addition to her loving husband of 36 years, Jacqueline is survived by her daughters; Debra Robinson-Sears (Henry) and Victoria Britton (Rick), sons; Gary Robinson (Mary Middleton), and Steven Robinson (Barbara), and step-sons; William Brooks, Jr. (Pamela), Gregory Brooks, Steven Brooks (Mary), and Jason Brooks (MaryAnn). She also leaves her brothers; Walter Robertson, Jr. and Robert Robertson (Patricia), and sisters; Patricia Centner (Rich) and Mary Tart (Howard), as well as six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step- great-grandchildren. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, located at 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Family and friends may call on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Connecticut State Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wallingford Animal Shelter, 5 Pent Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.
