Penny and I go way back. We were pretty close in grammar school, more than high school. I used to go to her birthday parties, and we used to go to dances together at the library. I always sent her valentine's day cards in grammar school. I often walked her home, although she lived in the opposite direction of my home, but I was pretty close to the school. After we moved way out Whitney Ave. I didn't walk her home any more. She was a good friend and her mother was really kind to me. I only ever really saw her father at the drug store in Centerville....we always called it Charlie Crooks. It was good to see her again after many years at a grammar school reunion that was held at Carol Burnett's (can't remember her married name) house in (can't remember the town either). I was up from MD for the reunion. I live in CA, retired, now. My condolences to Penny's family. She lived a full life, and touched many lives in a positive way. It seems too soon for her to have passed on. May God comfort your hearts and bring you a peace. Pastor Nicholas Brie (in grammar school I was known as Bob Schmidt).
