Obituary of Helen Kovach
WALLINGFORD- Helen Yurasko Kovach, wife of the late John Kovach and mother of the late Tommie Kovach, died March 1, 2015 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
She was born in Cleveland, OH on January 14, 1927 and lived in Wallingford since 1961 when she began working at Eyelet Specialty until retiring in 1985. She also worked for S.N.E.T from 1970 to 1991. She had belonged to the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also an honorary member of the United Steel Workers of America.
She is survived by her two grand daughters: Heidi and Holly Kovach; a grandson Henry Rhodes and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mary Kobys of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by her three brothers: Michael, Pete and John Yurasko, her sister Ann Brown, and her daughter-in-law Debbie Kovach.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20th at 11:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 - 11:20 AM prior to the start of the service. Burial in the Center Street Cemetery will be in the spring. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
