To the Shoag family:
My name is Sal Sinsigalli. I had Mr. Shoag as my history and current affairs teacher at George J. Penney High School in East Hartford form 1973-77. I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to you and convey some thoughts....He was absolutely the finest teacher I had in my 4 years at Penney High. I am terribly saddened to learn of his passing today. Mr. Shoag had the respect of almost all his students he taught. I wanted you, the family, to know he made a lasting impression on me and many more student he had at Penney. He was in his 50's at that time, and we were all teenagers.....One of my favorite quotes from his current affairs class was this...." I'm half dead, you (fill in the blank) are the ones who are going have to worry about the world".
Again, I just wanted you all to know the profound effect he had on me and, for the most part, the majority of his students......Tears are flowing here in East Hartford today, as I'm sure they are in other parts of CT and the country by all who knew him.....I know he will truly be missed by all.....
