Obituary of Julie Ann Butler
Julie Ann Butler, 52, passed away February 28, 2017 at Smilow Cancer Hospital in the loving care and presence of her husband Jeff. Julie was born in the Azores Islands, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lowell Sheets.
As a sibling in a service family, Julie also lived in Germany before settling in Goldendale, Washington. After completing her education she continued her travel adventure across the US, living in Spokane and Florida before landing in Wallingford where she met and married her "Soul Mate" Jeff. Julie is also survived by her step-sons Michael Butler and Drew Butler, one brother, two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Julie will also be dearly missed by many friends who felt so inspired by her. One friend yesterday called her a "Warrior."
Julie was active in church youth groups in both Goldendale and Norwich. She also worked as an office manager for Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Hartford. This was before joining Jeff in his business, as his office manager and right hand gal. Julie was also an active member and volunteer of the VFW Post 591 Auxiliary. Julie was passionate about many activities but none as much as her organic gardening and gourmet cooking. Many enjoyed the fruits of her labors through the years.
Family and friends may meet at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford on Sunday, March 12 at 11 AM followed by a service at 12 NOON. If so desired, donations in Julie's name may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
