Obituary of Rafael Correia

Ralph F. Correia Jr, 94, departed this life to meet his Savior on March 23, 2017. He was the beloved husband of 73 years to the late Mary Correia. Ralph was born in Lowell MA on August 13, 1922 to the late Rafael and Constantine Correia. He is survived by his son, Ralph Correia III & wife Eve of Wallingford, CT and his daughter Vera Montgomery & husband Dean of The Villages, FL. Ralph also leaves behind two grandsons, Ralph Correia IV and Dean Correia as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Leah, Lindsay and Deven Correia. Ralph was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Philippines as a medic. He retired from Allegheny Technologies with over 30 years of service. He and wife Mary enjoyed music, and he often created recordings of the love songs of his day with Mary. Two favorites included Al Martino's "Spanish Eyes" and "Mary in the Morning". They often attended dance socials at the Portuguese Club and swimming at the YMCA. Ralph was an avid bowler and loved gardening, adorning his yard with flowers. Upon his retirement, they both would spend their winters in Florida with their daughter Vera. Above all, he was a dedicated family man and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home on Monday March 27, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. The family of Ralph Correia would like to thank the staff of Regency House in Wallingford for their exceptional care, love and support.
