LUNENBURG, VT - Charles D. Fassett, of Lunenburg, VT, formerly of New Haven, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2016 at the West Haven VA Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rita Murphy Fassett. Charles was born on May 4, 1936 to the late Earl Fassett and Ola Whiting Fassett in Vermont. He worked as an equipment operator at Rockbestos Wire and Cable in New Haven for 27 years. After retiring, he and his wife Rita relocated to Vermont where he enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his children, and many grandchildren. Besides his wife Rita, Charles will be sadly missed by his six sons: Christopher (Amy) Fassett of VT, Charles M. (Evelyn) Fassett of Cheshire, Craig (Antonietta) Fassett of New Haven, Clint Fassett of VT, Ronald (Allison) Fassett of N.J., and Chad (Melissa) Fassett of N.Y.; He also leaves one daughter Kai Fassett of Meriden. Charles will be greatly missed by his nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He leaves seven surviving sisters, many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Charles has been predeceased by one sister and two brothers. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with his final arrangements. Relatives may call on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford.
