Obituary of Joanne Alice Trautner
MIDDLETOWN - Joanne A. Trautner died peacefully and with a great deal of courage and dignity on Saturday, February 14th - Valentine's Day. She was the youngest child of the late Roland and Jeanne (Loranger) Delorge.
She leaves her life partner, Robert Kruvka, who through tireless efforts as Joanne's caretaker enabled her to enjoy the comfort of home longer. Born on October 6, 1948 in Waterville, Maine and graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford in 1967. She worked at Middlesex Hospital as a housekeeper and as a C.N.A. helping people in local convalescent homes.
Her sisters, Dorothy Beane (Kermit) of Industry, Maine and Patricia Kirk (Junior) of Meriden, mourn her loss deeply. Her nieces, Michelle Proto of Meriden and Joanne's God Child, Colleen Pepin of Southington have many fond memories of their aunt. Nephews include Jaimie Delorge of Wallingford, Michael Beane (Industry, Me.), Clifton Beane (Dallas, TX) and Donald Beane (Wilton, Me). From Brunswick, Maine her sister-in-law, Josephine Delorge, who brightened Joanne's life with all her many letters and cards. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Delorge and nephew, Norman Beane.
Being the generous and loving soul that she was, Joanne donated her eyes to the Connecticut Eye Bank, in order to give the gift of sight to someone. She loved her angel collection which included a wide array of styles, shapes and sizes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Church in Middletown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Joanne's memory may donate to St. Francis Church 10 Elm Street Middletown, CT 06457. The family would like to thank the many people of St. Francis who attended to Joanne's spiritual needs; and to the Middlesex Hospice Team who made Joanne's final days dignified and peaceful. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
