WALLINGFORD - Anthony J Balsamo, 71, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Barbara Balsamo, departed this life peacefully after a long illness on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Mid-State Medical Center surrounded by his family. Anthony was born on July 11, 1943 in Italy, son of the late Giuseppe and Angelina (Rocco) Balsamo. He retired after 40 years with the Teamsters Union Local 443. He loved technology, history, electronics, movies, music, and most importantly being with his family who has been there for him. Anthony was also an avid sports fan, including the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He will be sadly missed by his wife Barbara and his four children: Anthony J Balsamo Jr. (Alisa) of Wallingford, Joseph Balsamo (Kortney) of Meriden, John Balsamo (Danielle) of Bridgeport and Tina Cusimano (Jim) of Meriden. Anthony also leaves his sister Rosemary Mitchell of Killingworth, 9 beloved grandchildren, 1 niece, 4 nephews, and two dogs. A Mass of Christian Burial was held privately at St. Joseph of Arimathea Independent Catholic Church in New Haven. His remains were entombed at the All Saints Mausoleum in North Haven. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
