Obituary of William P. Hamley
MERIDEN - William P. Hamley, 71, formerly of Cheshire, died on December 23, 2014 at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain after a long battle with ALS.
Bill was born on April 25, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of Alfred and Elizabeth (Carey) Hamley.
He served in the US Army from 1964-1968. He worked in the aluminum extrusion industry for many years, retiring in 2008.
Bill had a wonderfully positive attitude and sense of humor during his long illness and was an example to many with his belief in the power of positive attitude.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Terry of Meriden, his daughter Jennifer Lopresti and granddaughters Sophia and Juliana Lopresti of Southington, his brother John F. Hamley of Campbell, OH, and foster brothers Robert Larson of Tennessee, Edward Larson of Ohio and Gary Larson of Pennsylvania. He will be missed by many other family in-laws and friends whose lives he touched.
Friends may call on Monday, December 29th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 30th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden. Burial with military honors will at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
