WALLINGFORD - William G. Wilkinson, 89, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Madeline (Elder) Wilkinson, departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. William was born in Derby, CT on July 8, 1925 son of the late William and Marie (May) Wilkinson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He retired as a Chief Draftsman from Stone Safety. While raising his family he was a Scout Leader of the Boy Scouts of America and in his later years was an avid wood carver. He will be sadly missed by his wife Madeline of Wallingford and two sons: William E. Wilkinson of VT, Jeffrey Wilkinson and his wife Linda of NH. He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Robin Wilkinson of Niantic and a sister Estelle Miehle of Wallingford, along with seven grandchildren: Shaina, Dustin, Miranda, Eric, Alison, Kristi, and Garrett and seven beloved great grandchildren. William is preceded in death by a son, Randolph Wilkinson. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, October 18th from 9:30 -10:00 AM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street Wallingford. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow privately at Trinity Cemetery in Seymour.
