WALLINGFORD - Barbara S. Heck, 78, of Wallingford, loving wife of 60 years to John K. Heck Sr. departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on June 21, 1936 in East Lyme, CT daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Perrie) Stickle. She married John on July 15, 1954 and they spent over 60 years of loving marriage together sharing life and raising their family. Barbara was employed with the State of Connecticut Division of Special Revenue and later retired as an Administrative Financial Officer with the Department of Public Health. In her early years Barbara enjoyed bowling and played in a league with her husband. She was a kind and loving woman who made friends easily, and will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She is survived by her husband John Sr. of Wallingford and their children: Maryann Heck Perkins and her husband William of Wallingford, Susan J. Harrison and fiance' Raymond Stample of Wallingford, and John "Jack" Heck Jr. and his wife Laurie of Wallingford. Barbara also leaves a brother, Robert Stickle of MA and her six beloved grandchildren: Jeffrey, Karl, Kimberly, Katie Ann, Stacey and Emily, along with her great-granddaughter, Alexia. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 23rd from 10 AM - 12 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12 PM. Interment will be private and at In Memoriam Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
