WALLINGFORD - Grace C. Fowler, 97, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late William P. Fowler, departed this life on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at her home with her daughter at her side. Grace was born on June 24, 1916 in New Haven, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Heaphy) Cannavan. She was an avid reader, and a communicant of St. Francis Cabrini Church in North Haven. She is survived by her daughter: Laraine P. Sperberg and her husband Robert of VA. Three grandchildren: Robert Sperberg Jr. and his wife Catrina of MO, Theresa Cochran and her husband Jeffrey of CO, and William Sperberg of VA, along with six great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katherine, Victoria, Emily, Anna, and Mollie. Grace also leaves her sister-in-laws: Dorothy Butcher, Gloria Kojabash, Eileen Acker, Ann Gaunya and her husband Neil, along with a brother-in-law, Earl Fowler and his wife Liz and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Ruth, Isabelle, and Catherine Cannavan, Helen Williams and sister-in- law Mildred Kaercher. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday May 6th at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford from 9:30 -10:30 AM when the cortege will depart for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
