Dear friends and family of Robert King: There will be an example of King's work on view at the Museum of Arts and Design this fall, from September 23 to February 7 2015. It is an enameled, covered container that was made for the Museum's exhibition "Enamels," held at the Museum in 1959. He was a great designer and metalsmith.

I am so glad I got to spend a day with Uncle Bob several years ago when he attended a workshop at the Haystack School in Maine. He gave me a tour, let me watch him make some jewelry, and then we went to a nearby restaurant for lunch. We had a wonderful visit, and I will never forget that day. He will be greatly missed. Chris, Steve, Perry, and their families are in my thoughts. You had a wonderful Dad!

My brother Ron and I worked with Bob for many years at International Silver Design Department and always admired his creativity and craftsmanship. Bob could not be rushed as he executed his ideas to perfection. What amazed us as well was his physical ability at what seemed to us to be an advanced age when he beat us on the tennis courts. We are both pleased that Bob had a long and happy life and left so much of his work to posterity.
