MERIDEN - Dorothy E. Rankin, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late George Washington Rankin for 49 years. Dorothy was born on May 22, 1927 in Sedgwick, ME to the late Edgar and Jennie Torrey. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her surviving sister: Ruth Field of Meriden and many nieces and nephews including: Diane Sanderson of Stratford, Dawn Aldrich of Wallingford; David Friend of Meriden, Galen Friend of FL, Susan Chykurda of Cromwell, and Nancy Sullivan of Meriden. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St. in Wallingford. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11 AM.
