Obituary of Frances Katherine Crakes

WALLINGFORD - Frances Katherine Crakes, 89, of the Hawkins Apartments of Masonicare, died April 4, 2014 at the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. She was the widow of Harry F. Crakes. Born December 29, 1924 in Clinton, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Gustave L. Koth and Margaret Nicholson Koth. Frances attended Clinton Public Schools and graduated from Morgan High School in 1942. She lived in Southington for many years where she was employed at the Board of Education and later moved to Windingbrook Condominiums in Meriden. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Flach, and her husband, Ronald, of Pittsburgh, PA and a son, Gary Crakes, and his wife, Deborah, of Cheshire and seven grandchildren: her only granddaughter, Jennifer Begg and her husband Brian, of Pittsburgh, PA, Thomas Flach and his wife Tracey, of Fairfax Station, VA, James Flach and his wife Kate, of McLean, VA, Michael Flach and his wife Lindsey, of Pittsburgh, PA, and three grandsons Andrew Crakes, Jeffrey Crakes, and Timothy Crakes, all residents of Connecticut. In addition, Frances is survived by eight great grandchildren: Carlson and Kirsten Flach of Fairfax Station, VA, Andrew, Matthew, and Nathan Begg of Pittsburgh, PA, Bennett and Emily Flach of McLean, VA, and Ainsley Flach of Pittsburgh, PA. Frances was predeceased by a great grandson, Joshua Flach of McLean, VA. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Indian River Cemetery in Clinton, Connecticut.
