Dear Cusano Family,

I am one of the track coaches at Bishop Feehan H.S. and to say I'm sorry just doesn't seem to be enough. Dominic was with us and one of us for the past two years but it was as if we knew him our whole life. He was always positive with all the athletes and they all loved him. He is truly a gentleman, a friend and a great COACH!! We will miss him dearly.

I am so grateful that I had the pleasure of knowing someone like Dom, and for the countless memories of our friendship I have to look back on...
From passing notes in seventh grade, to seeing your face at my locker every morning in high school, and the million laughs we shared in between... I could not have gone through four years of indoor-track meets without you there to make me laugh (and to teach me how to start off the blocks). Dom and I were in the same art class together; I forget what year of high school. We were supposed to be watching a video one afternoon in class but instead were joking around and being stupid as usual. I forget who said what but we both began laughing uncontrollably. All of a sudden Dom began gagging and looking at me in panic. He gagged once or twice and then threw up into his cupped hands. At seeing this I lost it and began crying and laughing, almost falling out of my chair. Dom reacted the same way still laughing and tearing up all the while trying to hold back vomit from falling through his fingers onto the floor. We both tried to stop but couldn't control ourselves. This prompted Dom to start to gag once more and vomit even more into his hands and all over the floor from laughing. I sat there in tears as Dom had to get up, wipe his face, and clean up the uncontrollable hysterical laugh vomit from the floor. To add to the situation, no mop was available. Dom had to lie out sheet after sheet of brown paper towels in order to clean up his beautiful hysterical disaster. All the while a class sat around us with the lights off trying to quietly watch a movie. This was just a part of the Dom we all knew and loved. A piece of the person we'll all miss and cherish. Forever in my heart and in my thoughts. Rest easy my friend.

I played football with Dom in high school. I considered myself a fairly quick runner..until I met him. For an amazing athlete/upper classman, you couldn't ask for a classier, modest, all around genuine person. Dom had great leadership qualities, and I looked up to him a lot. They say the good die young..but Dom surely surpassed "good." He is in a much better place now, may he rest in peace and watch over us all. I'll catch up with you one day Dom.

Dom taught me the one of the most important values in life - Never judge a book by its cover! I first met Dom on my visit to Orono as a football recruit. Being an undersized football player, my initial reaction was to size-up the guys on the team to see where I would fit in. Looking at Dom my first thought was their is no way he is a good player (I was sadly mistaken). Dom was a better athlete than I could understand at times, but even more importantly he was a good person, a personable person, that was always willing to help when I needed something. Dom is in a much better place now and will never want for anything again. May his soul rest in paradise!
