Obituary of Ronald W. Kresge
NORWALK - Reverend Ronald W. Kresge, 87, of Norwalk, Connecticut went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital after a long illness. Reverend Kresge was born on July 1, 1926 in Trenton, N.J and served as a Corporal in the 59th Army Communication Squadron from 1942-1946. He then re-enlisted and served as a Staff Sergeant with the US Air Force until 1952.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jean Marie, his son Matthew Joshua, and his daughters Christina Elizabeth and Sarah Kezia Kresge and granddaughter Gabriella Marie Metter.
Ronald worked in the newspaper publishing business for many years, but found his real calling when he founded The Church of God at Norwalk which he Pastored for 25 years.
With the help of his faithful congregation, he was able to travel to Malawi Africa, Hungary and Romania to preach the Gospel and also hosted a weekly radio broadcast called "The Bread of Life Mission to the World with Brother Ron". Ronald was an avid ham radio operator (W1ARS) and spent many hours speaking with people all over the world.
A grave-side service to celebrate his life will be held at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT on Friday February 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Full Military honors will follow graveside prayers. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, Wallingford, Connecticut is in charge of arrangements.
