Obituary of Paul D. Speranza

Paul Dominick Speranza, 88, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home in Branford. He was the loving and devoted husband of Ada (Bryan) Speranza. Paul was born on December 10, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Antonio and Fannicea (LeRose) Speranza. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and a recipient of the Bronze Star. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as an electrical engineer for Bell Labs and in the Bell system. In his retirement he took joy in playing with and advising his grandchildren, watching baseball, fishing, doing crossword puzzles and listening to music. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughters Musa Speranza and her husband Joseph Shin of New Haven, and Carolyn Speranza and her husband Mick Karolac of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Olivia and Sebastian Shin; a brother, Nicholas Speranza of Nevada; and a sister, Olga Genzone of Nevada. Services with military honors being rendered will be held graveside at the CT State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Ln., Middletown on February 19th at 11:00 AM. There are no calling hours.
