Noella Newton, 82, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Skyview Center in Wallingford surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Sherman Newton. Noella was born on December 22, 1931, in St. Francis, ME. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School's Class of 1951. She was known for crocheting, and her creations graced the homes and lives of friends, family and strangers alike. In addition to her husband, she will be saddly missed by her daughters: Jeannette Bunnell and her husband Mark of Durham, Doris Mathieu and her husband Larry of Maine, Phyllis Sehl and her husband Robert of North Stonington, Linda Jacobson of Wallingford, and Christine (Tina) Daly and her husband Bill of New Jersey; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Services were private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. There were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
