Paul Samual Nere, 88, passed away peacefully January 31, 2014 at Masonicare Acute Care Hospital in Wallingford, Connecticut. Paul was the beloved husband of Jean (Vrana) Nere for 66 years. Born in 1925 in Valley Stream, Long Island, NY, Paul enjoyed a long life of varied activities and opportunities. He served as Bombardier Radio Operator in the Air Force during WWII. After he received his B.A. from Gettysburg College, he worked in his father's business in Chiara Fashions, at 265 Canal Street, NYC. He was drawn to the field of hospital pharmaceutical sales and was promoted to Regional Manager. He was rewarded by Bristol Meyer Squibb when he won the "Best of Bristol Award" in 1984. Retirement was filled with a part-time position as a zoning enforcement officer in Killingworth, CT, spending winters at their villa on Long Boat Key, FL, playing tennis, bridge, and traveling. China and Africa were among his favorite trips. His interests kept him active for years. Paul was predeceased by his brothers John "Jack" Nere and August Miller. In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by son, Stephen Nere (Pat), grandsons Zack and Seth (Mallory) and two great grandsons, Ayden and Gavan.
