WALLINGFORD - Mark Oppelt passed away suddenly January 15, 2014 at his home. He was born January 13, 1955 in Newport, RI to the late Robert and Shirley (Worster) Oppelt. Mark was a graduate of the Sheehan High School in Wallingford and had been involved in numerous business ventures. He previously was co-owner of RayMark Industries and Assemblies Unlimited. At the time of his passing, he co-owned Family Pizza in Wallingford. Mark was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys. In his free time he also enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He is survived by siblings Joanna Davis and her husband Brian of Branford and Robert Oppelt of Lebanon; his nieces Melissa and Erin; a nephew, Robert; great nieces Skyler, MacKenzie, and Summer; his uncle, William F. Oppelt and his wife Felicia of Guilford; and his friend and business partner who was like a brother to him, Ray Robles of Wallingford. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ray's family and friends for all of the kindness and care shown to Mark over the years. Friends may call on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
