CHESHIRE - Ralph J. Jackson Sr., 74, of Cheshire, beloved husband of Nancy Adams Jackson, departed this life on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Mid-State Medical Center. Ralph was born on October 7, 1939 in St. Petersburg, FL, son of the late Thelma Kish. He owned and operated Jackson Testing in Cheshire where he worked as an Air Balancing Engineer. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and won gardening awards including the Cheshire Beauty Spot of the Month. In his younger years he was a Recording Artist with his brother Tom, they were known as "The Jackson Brothers" and had top 40 hits and appeared on American Bandstand; more recently he performed for a number of years with his family's wedding band called The Townpeople. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years Nancy of Cheshire, and their children: Ralph Jackson Jr. of Stafford Springs, Alan Jackson and his wife Debbie of Cheshire, and Thomas Jackson of Meriden. He also leaves his brother Tom Jackson and his wife Heidi of MD. Ralph leaves six beloved grandchildren: Jeanne - Marie, Erin, Trevor, Sean, Hope, and Hannah along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter: Jeanne - Marie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 6th at 11 AM at Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
