Obituary of Howard F. Griesing

Howard Griesing, 84, departed this life on December 28, 2016 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of Rose (Maisano) Griesing. Howard was born in New Haven on June 28, 1932 to the late Stanley and Caroline (Krichten) Griesing. Howard was a veteran who served honorably in the US Air Force, was a member of Local 777 and the Wallingford Senior Center and was an avid golfer. A baseball player himself, he enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox. He had been a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by: son Curtiss Griesing (and Kathy) of Wallingford; daughter Adria Hourigan (and Richard) of Southington; a sister: Carole Ann Kromer (and Joseph) of Wallingford; five grandchildren: Hilary, Alyssa, Kiara, Caitlyn and Kelsi; and great grandchild: Graham. He was predeceased by his brothers William and Stanley and his sister Grace O'Connell. The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery, Wallingford.
