WALLINGFORD - Shirley M. Wigforss, 92, of Meriden, former spouse of the late Niels J. Wigforss, departed this life on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Miller Memorial Home in Meriden. Shirley was born on May 31, 1921 in Wallingford, daughter of the late Edmund and Emma (Riotte) Gingras. She retired a as teller for the Dime Savings Bank in Wallingford. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Shirley also enjoyed competitive rifle shooting and was an avid ice skater in her younger years. She will be sadly missed by her son: Niels Peter Wigforss and his wife Leigh of Durham and her daughter, Karen S. Wigforss of PA. She also leaves a brother Robert Gingras of SC. Shirley also leaves 2 grandsons: Eric Paul Wigforss of Wallingford and David Peter Wigforss of CA along with 2 great grandchildren: Peter and Matthew Wigforss of Wallingford. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 15th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 9:30 AM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
