Obituary of Albert Louis Ruwet
WALLINGFORD - Albert L. Ruwet, 84, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Caroline Ruwet, departed this life on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Mid-State Medical Center.
Albert was born in New Haven, CT on January 2, 1929 son of the late Lewis and Louise (Ragazzino) Ruwet. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant First Class. He retired after over 50 years as a Welder with Plasticrete. Al was a member of the Fraternal Order of the ELKS, and Our Lady of Fatima Men's Club. He was also an avid fan of the New York Giants. He is remembered most as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and all around great guy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Caroline (Cotton) Ruwet of Wallingford, and their beloved children: Gail Davitt of Wallingford, Kenneth Ruwet and his wife Maria Lourdes of Brazil, Deborah Lakomski and her husband John of Wallingford, David Ruwet and his loving companion Irene Friedman of New Haven, and Kristin Pippin - Herbst of Wallingford. Al also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death a sister, Eleanor Paolella.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 1st from 4 - 7 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 2nd at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville, CT. Those attending the Mass are asked to meet directly at the Church. Interment will follow at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
