WALLINGFORD -- Connie Owens, 57, of Wallingford, loving wife of Rich Mavrogeanes and mother of Acacia Mavrogeanes, departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born Cornelia J. Owens on December 2, 1955, in New Rochelle, NY, daughter of Richard Owens and the late Evelyn Ford. She grew up and went to high school in Rye, New York, and later moved to Wallingford where she worked at various local companies, including Dataproducts New England where she met her husband. Connie later worked at Avidia Inc., VBrick Inc., and at Discover Video. Her full time career was devoted to raising her daughter and maintaining a household for her family. She loved gardening, crafting, writing, and had a passion for maintaining relationships with the people she knew and loved throughout her life. Connie was often known as "Coco" by her friends. Connie is survived by her husband Rich Mavrogeanes, her daughter Acacia Mavrogeanes, her father Richard Owens, sisters Madeline and Linda, and brother Richard. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, September 13th from 4-7 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A time of sharing will follow the visitation at 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
