Obituary of Helen N. Richardson
MIDDLETOWN - Helen (Neuroth) Richardson of Wallingford, an avid dancer, New Haven Hiking Club adventurer and Mt. Laurel Ski Team racer will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She passed away on December 6, 2016 from complications after heart surgery.
Born in Gouverneur, NY, she spent most of her life in East Syracuse as a special education teacher while married to her husband of 40 years, Jim Richardson. She retired to Wallingford, CT, but returned annually to her spiritual home at Sylvia Lake to be with family and friends. She leaves her precious children and grandchildren Marie, Ted, Kevin and Alexa Hercamp; Diane, Joe, Rebecca and Andrew Robles; and Jeff and Robin Richardson. She will be missed by her loving dance, hiking and biking partner, Patrick DeMichele; siblings MaryLynn Hastings, Alice Spilman, and Mike Neuroth; and many friends who loved to ski and play games with "Grandma Helen."
Calling hours will be held from 4 PM - 7 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St. in Wallingford, which will include a special "story sharing time" from 6 PM - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony Rd. in Wallingford.
