WALLINGFORD - Alfred W. "Big Al" Misiaszek, 85, of Wallingford, departed this life on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford after a short illness. He was the loving husband of the late Rose Mary (Montesi) Misiaszek. Alfred was born on December 1, 1927, in Wallingford, CT, a son of the late John and Margaret (Jubileuszw) Misiaszek. He was a veteran of the US Navy and had worked as a foreman for the Stanley-Judd Company. In later years, he was owner of Creative Carpentry. He enjoyed socializing with friends and was a fixture at McDonalds and Dunkin' Donuts. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Patti Ann Smith and her husband Paul of New Hill, NC; a brother: Henry Misiaszek and his wife Frances of Wallingford; the extended Cannata, Bailey and Pardew families; Thomas Pardew who knew him as "Grampie Al" and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Julius Misiaszek and a sister Mary Sosnowski. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, August 9th (TODAY) from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima, 382 Hope Hill Rd., Yalesville. Burial with military honors will be in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford.
