WALLINGFORD - Lonitta M. Barker, 101, of Wallingford and formerly of Middletown beloved wife of the late Wallace Barker Sr., departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. Lonitta was born in Providence, RI, May 11, 1911, the daughter of the late Hampton and Jessie (Macomber) Carr. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford. She is survived by a son, Gary Barker of SC, along with 5 granddaughters, Kelly Kalber of Middletown, Kimberly Hummel of Middletown, Heidi Bica of Durham, Lucinda Mahoney of Waterford, and Laurie DiNuzzo of Meriden, and one grandson, David Barker of Meriden along with 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son, Wallace Barker Jr., and three brothers: Robert, Clarence, and Frank Carr. All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Riverbend Cemetery in Westerly, RI. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
