Obituary of Edward A. Potter
WALLINGFORD - Edward A. Potter, 90, of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Dorothy J. Potter and Marcia B. Potter, departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Masonic Healthcare Center.
Ed was born in Ada, OH, son of the late John A. Potter and Lydia L. Potter. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II and later obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired after 39 years with Pratt & Whitney as a Director of Product Integrity. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Ashlar Lodge #332 in Wallingford. In his spare time he enjoyed sailing on his boat which he owned for over 25 years. He enjoyed participating in productions of Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Linda J. Sauer and her husband Christian of Ellington, and Glen E. Potter and his wife Jean of Vernon. Ed also leaves three grandchildren: Karen, Wendy, and Steve, along with two great grandchildren: Sarah and Jonathan in addition his devoted companion, Ida Greene of Wallingford.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 1:00 PM at Ashlar Village in Auditorium A. Interment with Military Honors will be private and at the convenience of the family. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
